Church Pirates

Just came across this on Ed Young’s blog. What he says is so true. I have lived through “Church Pirating” episodes on more than one occasion. The real loser in the long run is great church people who get knocked out of the race because of this craziness.

I’m not sure if bringing this up will put a stop to church pirating or just slow it down some but it would be a great thing if this kind of thing stopped happening altogether.

    Yo ho,yo ho...

So, I read this random thing about birds and it goes like this.

A Cuckoo bird will lay its eggs in another birds nest and let that bird raise the chicks.
Grosbeaks will steal parts of another birds nest to construct it's own.
Sparrows steal nests from Martins, letting those eggs fall to the ground.
Starlings, in turn, steal from sparrows.

A female Partridge will steal the eggs of other birds and hatch them - but, she gains nothing from this. AS soon as the young birds hear the voice of their true mother they will abandon the false nest.

Church Pirating is for the birds.

Wow, Ed Young, wow - that took some serious MOXIE to speak up and say that! And thank you so much PK for putting that on your blog! Wow.

It's cowardice and so un-biblical. So...if God calls a person to start a church (hence the trump card, "God told me"), then don't you think He would supply the people for it - like, new & fresh people? I can't imagine starting something with a curse at it's very foundation. Thanks, PK, for being a man of integrity!
