Come Out Of The Closet!

Posted by Posted by Kirk Bowman On 1:05 PM

Today is the first day of spring. And it looks like it outside here. Yahoo! I am so looking forward to warm weather returning. Having grown up in New Orleans, even though I have lived in Asheville for over 18 years, I still have thin blood and I’m freezing every winter. Come on, Spring!

Today also marks my one year anniversary for my blog. It has taken me a while to gather a consistent blog-o-rhythm but I have gotten better. I hope to make my blog better this year than last year.

I started tracking the number of people who are reading my blog on Feb. 6. From then until Mar. 19 there were 586 different people viewing my blog with about half of them being repeat viewers. Google analytics tells me where the viewers come from but not exactly who they are.

Hey you closet blog viewers – how about leaving a comment that lets me know who you are. I’d love to hear from you.

BTW –if you are part of our church, invite someone to Easter service this Sunday. It’s going to be awesome!

Hey PK. I read your blog regularly. It's one of the ways I began to feel a part of the Rock family while I was a new member. It's like I get my big spiritual meal on Sunday and the blog serves as snacks along the way until the next meal. It also has helped me to know how much I belong to THIS house because so many things you write resonate with how I think..feel...believe. It's cool to be HOME. :)

Spring is such a prodigious season. It's Gods' appointed time for action. With all emphasis on preparation we sense the urgency to move fast and cultivate our soil. As the Gospels account in the parable of the four soils, Jesus says;"the seeds that fell on fertile soil, sprouted, grew strong and produced abundantly." It's the "spring season" in the Rock, we've been "tilled" and we are prepared to "plant promises"! I'm "so super siked" about tomorrow. there are people who are one message away from Salvation, one reason away from starting to come to church. Some are even at "one last church to try". This Easter marks the second anniversary
of my families' covenant with the Rock. The Church, the Vision and your wisdom are key to who I am becoming in Christ.

OK, I'll raise my hand. I'm a blog lurker, and that back-of-the-room trait is such a part of who I am that it usually takes someone asking me (or pulling me) into the center of the room to prompt me to participate in the action.

I enjoy reading your thoughts and comments that you post here. I love our church - I am blessed to have been placed here, and as I get more connected with the vision I find even more blessing. It's quite extraordinary.

    I'm all in.

Pastor Kirk, I truly enjoy reading your blog. I am currently away from The Rock church on a job and enjoy seeing sermons and reading your blog. My fiance' is still in your church and you have no idea what you mean to him and to me. Thanks.
