New Signal - Old Receiver

This is an interesting idea.

An old fashioned instrument - an antenna - can receive a new kind of signal - HDTV.

Two sides to the story for me.

1. No matter how advanced we get we still can't beat the old fashioned fundamentals of personal prayer, personal time in the Word and some solitude to gather our soul and stay tuned in to heaven.

2. The other side - there are are some fresh new signals coming in. We can't stay stuck on analog when God is sending digital.

    growing up we had a GIGANTIC antenna that we would turn to get the best signal....the fact that we still only got one channel is mind blowing. there were those lucky folks with that remote box with the big dial that turned the antenna FOR YOU. wow.
    i agree that nothing can replace the face to face time and presence of GOD. nothing. no one. no thing.
    i think i struggle with thinking everything was better "back then." i know this isn't logical or even true, but my distance from the past makes it look rosy. i identify with people who try to recapture the early church. it SEEMS like that would be more authentic and simple, which might just translate into easy. there is no such thing as the good old days.
    the clothes and cars WERE cooler though.....AND HOW!
    (and the only people i have ever met that were REALLY into YES, were very weird. of course, you are the exception....)

    As I am reading this post, I'm noddin' my head saying, Ya...progress- comin' at ya like Superman in that one fist forward flying pose- (only now he's in HD, and he's got an iPhone in his hand).

    ...and I'm looking at one side of my desk with an iPod plugged in (podcasts rock). I open the drawer next to me, and I have Rock tapes from, like, 1996...I tried a while ago to listen to one- realized I don't even own a cassette player..there's not one in my car. How do I get that precious old onfo, from tape to cd..cd to download..download to podcast. I'm old. My stuff's new.

    I want one of those Matrix things that plug into the back of your head, so I can download the directions right to the brain. Tutorials try my patience. (I wonder if there is an available upgrade for that?) Please exuse random thought pattern of posting...

    Back to Superman..I wanna be like him..cool new suit,unfazed by the future. Rolls with the high tech punches, without loosing site of the mission and the message passed down from his Father.
