Did You Know 2.0

A few years ago, I started talking about the church needing to change in order to keep up with the pace of the world. We want to drive 35 mph down Monte Vista while the rest of the world drives 70 (or more!) down the interstate.
We should actually be leading, not just keeping up. But that's another post.

I just woke up- no joe yet- and I read this before I turned on the news... what was a wake up. I want to know more...like,for instance, how do I get this on my profile...

I saw that video at a recent school open house....

There are some things that remain vital to human happiness, that exist outside of any kind of advancement-connection. love. acceptance. nature. touch. worship. God. The world will always lead in some areas. To me the gift of the church to the world is its ability to speak to the heart of people and nourish what the world can't.

My mom, Kathy, sent this to me, and all I can say is wow. Having experienced the capability of my first computer now fitting in my cell phone, and it's hard drive space now fitting into a SD Card the size of my thumbnail, I definitely agree there's no way to predict what will happen 10, much less 30 years from now.
I have to say that the Rock is doing a much better job than most churches, which seem to get stuck in the "Religion ≠ Technology", and although it's true that the emphasis should stay on the message, and not the media, the media is what allows the message to happen.
Imagine where the world would be now if Christians of the day did not believe in Gutenberg's printing press.
Although I'm on the other side on the world, it's always nice to check up on the Rock Online and on this blog, keep up the good work!
