Sunday I talked about reading your Bible on a regular basis. I’m convinced that regular, consistent Bible reading and prayer are the two “big rocks” we have to get in our schedule. They will make all the difference in our lives.
It’s not rocket science and it’s not new. But it works!!
I also encouraged our church to read a translation of the Bible they can understand.
Check out his verse in KJV:
1Sam. 25:34 For in very deed, as the LORD God of Israel liveth, which hath kept me back from hurting thee, except thou hadst hasted and come to meet me, surely there had not been left unto Nabal by the morning light any that pisseth against the wall.
I mean, honestly, who talks like that anymore.
I’m just sayin ….

I say "AMEN" to that, my persoal choice is the NLT. When your thirsty what good is running water to you if you can't get past the fence that blocks it. Reading a translation of the Bible you can understand is pertinent to personal spiritual growth. Don't let "tradition" or "old thinking" be the fence that blocks you from the Stream of Living Water.

Amen--whatever version makes sense to a person when they read it is the best one for them.
It was tough for me to stop trying to figure out my King James version about 15 years ago. I really used to think that it wasn't the Bible if a scripture didn't have "thee" and "thou" in it! I thought I must be dense not to understand the KJV. Then I got an Amplified Bible and it really opened up some revelation and understanding for me. Now I have several versions of the Bible. When I really want to understand a scripture, I look it up in every version I have and it gives me greater understanding.
