The Last First Day

Posted by Posted by Kirk Bowman On 1:05 PM

So, every year on the first day of school we make our girls march out on our front porch and let us take their picture. It’s a family tradition. We’ve done it every year of their school life.

Today was the last picture I will get to take of the first day of school for my girls (Outside of college). Tori has graduated and now my youngest daughter, Elizabeth, is marching into her senior year in high school.

Elizabeth is an amazing person. She is smart, fun and almost always in a good mood. I know God has great things in store for her. How can my baby girl be in her last year of high school? Sigh.

Sigh........I also sent my baby to his last year of high school. It was kind of hard for me, but I am excited to see what the next chapter holds for all of the great young adults at the Rock Church. So, the story continues............

Wow! That gorgeous girl was 2 months old when I "met" her!
When I look at Elizabeth, I can't help but be excited about her next "first days" in life and purpose. You're right - she IS "an amazing person." You guys are BLESSED!

One of the most amazing things about Tori and Elizabeth is that they always go out of their way to say Hello and share a smile with me. It might be in a restaurant, at the Mall, or in Church...they always share their smiles.

What an awesome legacy you and Suzette are leaving in these two beautiful, wonderful girls.

Children are one of God's most incredible blessings!

You may have taken the last pic of your baby's last first day...but can you imagine a photo album with a picture of every person, who celebrated the first day.. of the rest of their new life in Christ...all because you provided the "front porch".

Thanks for always covering us, Pastor Kirk.

I don't have kids, but I can understand how kids grow up fast. My brother was just a baby is seems like yesterday and then, he is now walking, talking, and in school already. Next thing you know it, he is going to come up to me and say with a deep voice "Hey what's up bro". Kids grow up so fast. Now, I know why my mom would always say that to me "You growing up so fast, kid".
